Transport in Lincoln is one of the big issues people in Lincoln contact me about – be it traffic, cycle paths, trains or bus routes. With more and more cars on our roads, people can find it difficult and frustrating travelling to, from and around our city. The future prosperity of Lincoln relies on it having an effective transport system.
The initial dualling of the A46, which I secured Government funding for, has provided people with a much more efficient and safer route between Lincoln and Newark. Over the coming years we can look forward to more improvements including the dualling of the rest of the A46, the construction of the Eastern Bypass and the start of a regular, direct and fast Lincoln to London rail link on the East Coast Mainline – all of which I have been actively campaigning for.
However, I know there are still more issues that need addressing and I’m going to use the results of this survey to push further for local transport improvements. I will be putting your concerns and views to council bosses, bus and train operators and Transport Ministers - so please do take part in this survey and let me know what you think.
